Credit Controller (9-12 month Fixed-Term Contract)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join a small finance team on a 9‑12 month fixed‑term contract. The role is office‑based and requires an immediate start, offering the chance to take full ownership of the credit control function from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end credit control process for a portfolio of customer accounts.
• Chase outstanding debts via phone, email and written correspondence.
• Maintain accurate customer account records and resolve queries.
• Monitor aged debt reports and take action to minimise overdue balances.
• Allocate incoming payments and reconcile accounts.
• Produce regular debtor reports for management.
• Investigate and resolve invoice disputes promptly.
• Build strong relationships with customers to encourage timely payment.
• Collaborate with the wider finance team and operational stakeholders.
• Support month‑end activities and suggest process improvements.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Credit Controller with a proven record of reducing aged debt.
• Comfortable working independently as the sole Credit Controller.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and prioritise tasks effectively.
• Immediately available and able to commit to a 9‑12 month fixed‑term contract.
