Customer Support Technician

About the role

As a Customer Support Technician you will work hands‑on in a clean‑room environment building, testing and maintaining multimillion‑dollar display and wafer‑fabrication equipment for Applied Materials' customers. The position is based at the customer site in Leixlip and follows a rotating day‑and‑night shift pattern with full training provided.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning daily work schedules, including installation, preventive and remedial maintenance.
• Perform quality checks and periodic maintenance (daily to annual) on systems, including wet cleans when required.
• Instruct customers and trades personnel on installation, operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Troubleshoot process variations and resolve issues with support from senior engineers.
• Execute start‑up, warranty, paid service and service‑contract activities, including TIER 0, I & II start‑ups.

Required profile

• Associate degree, technical certification or equivalent field experience.
• 1–2 years of customer/field support experience.
• Willingness to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Clear written and verbal communication with strong documentation focus.
• Basic mechanical aptitude (pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, thermodynamics).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of hand tools and proper use of a digital multimeter.
• Ability to work in a clean‑room environment using appropriate PPE.
