Cyber Security Responder (Technology/Operations)

About the role
The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) is looking for Cyber Security Responders to support Ireland’s national cyber defence. The role involves working across technology and operations directorates to implement resilience measures, analyse threats, and coordinate incident response at national, EU and international levels.
Key responsibilities
- Support the NCSC’s mission to deliver national cyber defence solutions and services.
- Translate national and EU cyber‑resilience regulations into operational procedures, controls and workflows.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at national, EU and international levels to ensure consistent application of resilience measures.
- Operate and maintain early‑warning services built on open‑source solutions, processing security feeds and distributing actionable intelligence.
- Assist in developing data‑analytics capabilities to provide insights for decision‑making.
- Monitor, assess and analyse emerging vulnerabilities and cyber threats, producing reports for relevant organisations.
- Support the coordination and continuous improvement of the national Coordinated Vulnerability Disclosure (CVD) process.
- Contribute to vendor and technology selection, procurement and project‑management activities.
- Assist with the national cyber incident response process and participate in cyber exercises.
Required profile
- Experience working with internal and external stakeholders on cyber‑resilience initiatives.
- Familiarity with national and EU cyber‑security regulations and their operational implementation.
- Ability to analyse security feeds, enrich intelligence and produce clear reports.
- Experience supporting coordinated vulnerability disclosure and incident response processes.
