Cybersecurity Analyst – 12‑month Fixed‑Term (Dublin/Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to join a semi‑state agency on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role combines hands‑on monitoring, vulnerability and incident response with occasional governance, risk and compliance tasks. The position can be based in Dublin or worked remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Work as part of a mostly remote team on SIEM, cloud and email security processes.
• Perform Blue‑team activities: monitor incoming security events, escalate when required, document incidents and conduct investigation/triage.
• Maintain vulnerability assessments across various threat vectors, produce ongoing reports and ensure SLA compliance.
• Manage internal red‑team simulations, deliver training and promote best practices across departments.
• Collaborate with auditors to provide GRC‑related information as needed.
• Assist with penetration testing activities and track remediation actions.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on post‑graduate IT security experience.
• Degree in Cybersecurity or related field and relevant certifications are a plus.
• Strong knowledge of threat analysis, incident response and vulnerability management.
• Experience with SIEM, network security and antivirus solutions.
• Comfortable working on both Windows and Linux platforms.
• Familiarity with GRC frameworks such as NIST or ISO 27001.
• Practical experience in phishing response and training.
• Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland (no sponsorship available).
