Data & BI Engineer

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing financial services organisation, is looking for a Data & BI Engineer to join a high‑performing technology team. You will design and optimise data pipelines, build robust BI solutions and support data‑driven decision‑making across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise scalable data pipelines and data models for reporting and analytics.
• Analyse system logs and datasets to troubleshoot data‑related issues across multiple platforms.
• Develop and enhance BI solutions, ensuring high‑quality visualisation and reporting outputs.
• Collaborate with Product, QA and DevOps teams to deliver robust data solutions.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Document technical solutions, workflows and processes for knowledge sharing.
• Support the development of internal tools and automation to improve efficiency.

Required profile

• 4–6 years of experience in Data Engineering, BI Engineering or a similar role.
• Strong SQL skills, including complex query development and performance optimisation.
• Proven experience with data warehousing, data modelling and ETL/ELT processes.
• Experience working with large‑scale datasets and cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
• Ability to implement testing strategies (unit, integration, end‑to‑end) and follow software development best practices.
