Data & BI Engineer

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing financial services organisation, is looking for a Data & BI Engineer to design, build and optimise data pipelines and business intelligence solutions that enable strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise scalable data pipelines and data models for reporting and analytics.
• Analyse system logs and datasets to troubleshoot and resolve data‑related issues across multiple platforms.
• Develop and enhance BI solutions, delivering high‑quality visualisations and reports.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps and other cross‑functional teams to deliver robust data solutions.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives for development, deployment and data processes.
• Participate in architectural discussions, influencing system and data design decisions.
• Document technical solutions, workflows and processes for knowledge sharing.
• Support the creation of internal tools and automation to improve efficiency.

Required profile

• 4–6 years of experience in Data Engineering, BI Engineering or a similar role.
• Strong expertise in SQL, including complex query development and performance optimisation.
• Proven background in data warehousing, data modelling and ETL/ELT processes.
• Experience working with large‑scale datasets and delivering data‑driven solutions.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience implementing testing strategies (unit, integration, end‑to‑end).
• Understanding of software development best practices, code reviews and documentation.
