Data Engineer III

About the role

Datavant is seeking a senior‑level Data Engineer to join its Business Intelligence & Analytics team. You will help build and maintain scalable data pipelines, models, and warehouse infrastructure that power reporting, advanced analytics, and operational workflows for the healthcare ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimise data pipelines using Python, SQL, dbt, Airflow and cloud‑native tools.
• Maintain and evolve the data warehouse to support reliable reporting and analytics.
• Partner with engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable datasets.
• Write clean, reusable code and Infrastructure‑as‑Code following best‑practice standards.
• Own pipeline reliability through testing, monitoring, observability, alerting and troubleshooting.
• Participate in technical discussions, architecture reviews and continuous platform improvements.
• Leverage AI‑assisted engineering tools (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) to boost productivity and code quality.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in software development, analytics engineering or data engineering.
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to drive projects independently.
• AI‑first mindset and interest in using AI‑assisted tools to improve engineering workflows.
