Deputy General Manager

About the role

The Deputy General Manager will support the General Manager in leading the Loughrea Hotel & Spa, ensuring daily operations deliver an exceptional guest experience. This full‑time, on‑site position is based in Loughrea, County Galway and combines operational oversight with strategic revenue initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of Front Office, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Maintenance and Events, ensuring seamless coordination.
• Monitor operational performance, address challenges proactively and implement solutions aligned with hotel goals.
• Maintain appropriate staffing levels across all departments.
• Lead F&B outlets (Lir Bar and Abbey Restaurant), set service standards, drive footfall and revenue, and ensure high‑quality food and beverage service.
• Conduct regular staff training, performance evaluations and foster a culture of service excellence.
• Review guest feedback, resolve issues promptly and continuously improve the guest experience.

Required profile

• Proven success in Food & Beverage management within a country‑hotel environment.
• Strong people and communication skills, customer‑focused and hands‑on leadership style.
• Ability to motivate teams, work flexible weekends and present a professional appearance.
• Solution‑oriented mindset with a drive to achieve strategic and revenue targets.
