Desktop Support Engineer (Field Support Technician)

About the role

AVASO Technology is seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to deliver day‑to‑day local and remote desktop assistance for its clients in Limerick. You will be the first point of contact for hardware, software and application issues, handling inbound calls, troubleshooting, and documenting resolutions in a ticketing system.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑ and second‑level support for Windows desktops, laptops, printers and peripheral devices.
• Install, upgrade and troubleshoot Windows XP, 7, 8.1 and 10, Microsoft Office 2010, Cisco Jabber and approved desktop applications.
• Support basic Mac OS users and manage third‑party vendor escalations for complex AV issues.
• Maintain accurate ticket updates, communicate status to customers and ensure consistent operations across shifts.
• Perform preventative maintenance and remedial repairs on hardware using diagnostic tools.
• Collaborate with IT teams on network connectivity, server, audio/visual, smart‑device and telecom troubleshooting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Windows desktop support.
• CompTIA A+ and Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certifications or higher.
