Dietary Director

About the role
Dublin Post Acute is seeking an experienced and compassionate Dietary Director to lead its Dietary Services Department. The role oversees all aspects of food service operations, ensuring residents receive safe, nutritious, and appetizing meals that meet individual dietary orders while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee preparation and service of meals in accordance with physician orders and approved menus.
- Maintain food quality, portion control, and compliance with dietary standards.
- Manage departmental budget, food inventory, purchasing, and cost control.
- Plan special meals for holidays, celebrations, and facility events.
- Recruit, hire, train, supervise, coach, and evaluate dietary staff.
- Prepare staff schedules and ensure appropriate coverage.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, infection control, and regulatory requirements.
- Handle food storage, labeling, temperature monitoring, and new diet orders.
- Assess resident food preferences, allergies, and nutritional concerns and maintain accurate records.
- Conduct regular kitchen and storage inspections for cleanliness and safety.
- Collaborate with Nursing, Activities, and other departments to support resident‑centered care.
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Interdisciplinary Team meetings.
- Provide ongoing education and in‑service training for dietary staff.
- Investigate workplace incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain resident confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
- Communicate menu changes and nutrition concerns with the consulting Registered Dietitian.
Required profile
- Graduate of an approved Dietary Manager course meeting state and federal regulations.
- Current certifications, continuing education, and licensure in good standing with the Department of Public Health.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Minimum of one year experience in a long‑term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation dietary department.
