Duty Manager

About the role

The Gleneagle Hotel in Killarney is seeking an experienced Duty Manager to join its management team. This role is ideal for candidates with strong Food & Beverage or hotel operations experience who thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead early and late Duty Manager shifts, ensuring smooth and efficient hotel operations.
• Work closely with departmental managers to guarantee all areas are open, staffed and meet the high standards expected by guests.
• Engage with guests throughout the hotel, resolve issues promptly and maintain a proactive, guest‑centric service approach.
• Conduct daily fire walks, safety checks and complete operational reports to ensure compliance with hotel policies.
• Support large‑scale events and collaborate with other departments to deliver seamless service.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a senior supervisor or manager in Food & Beverage or as a Duty Manager in a smaller property.
• Proven experience in high‑volume events, hospitality or F&B operations.
• Level 7 qualification (or equivalent) in hotel management, tourism, event management or a related discipline.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work confidently with multiple stakeholders.
• Adaptable, energetic and comfortable working in a dynamic environment with varied guest profiles.
