Electrical Apprentice

About the role

Dawn Meats Kildare is looking for an Electrical Apprentice to join its Maintenance team in Kildare town. The apprentice will be trained in all aspects of the electrical apprenticeship programme, which consists of 7 phases: 3 off-the-job and 4 on-the-job. SOLAS and the Department of Education and Science provide the off-the-job training, while on-the-job training takes place on site with the Maintenance team.

Required profile

• Interest in electrical and mechanical installations.
• Leaving Certificate or equivalent, including a maths and a science or engineering subject as a minimum; alternatively a Junior Certificate (Ordinary Level) Grade C or higher in 5 subjects, or Grade D or higher at Higher Level.
• Previous work experience or a pre-apprenticeship course is an advantage.
• Over 18 years of age and able to live and work in Ireland without restriction.
• Able to pass a colour vision and medical assessment.

Required skills

• Strong technical aptitude.
• Ability to work as part of a team, follow maintenance planning and meet targets and project deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to take ownership of queries and issues.
• Ability to multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision.
