Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Planner – Cork

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Planner to join a large‑scale industrial facility in Cork on an embedded contractor basis. The role supports the maintenance and engineering function by preparing, coordinating and delivering high‑quality E&I maintenance work plans.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed E&I maintenance work plans, defining scope, labour, materials, tools and specialist requirements.
• Support planning and scheduling of preventive, corrective and shutdown maintenance activities.
• Translate work requests into executable maintenance plans and ensure work readiness.
• Identify required permits, isolations, safety documentation and supporting information before execution.
• Maintain accurate planning data in the CMMS (SAP PM preferred).
• Manage backlog, prioritize and optimise maintenance activities.
• Liaise with contractors and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient delivery.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for maintenance effectiveness and reliability.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an E&I Planner, Maintenance Planner, Electrical Planner or Instrumentation Planner in an industrial environment.
• Background in Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical, Energy, Utilities or Process Manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation such as P&IDs, electrical drawings and instrumentation documents.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.

Required skills

• SAP PM (or other CMMS) experience.
• Familiarity with P&IDs.
• Ability to read electrical drawings.
• Knowledge of instrumentation documentation.
