Electrical Shift Technician – Dublin

About the role
Our client, a leading utilities organisation in Dublin, is looking for an experienced Electrical Shift Technician to join their permanent team. The role involves overseeing the morning shift changeover, coordinating with on‑site technicians and ensuring reliable operation of utility plant equipment.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate daily activities with on‑site shift technicians, especially during morning shift changeovers.
- Act as the main point of contact for service providers and manage spare‑part requirements.
- Troubleshoot and investigate faults, perform root‑cause analysis and record deviations on utility plant equipment.
- Execute planned preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance tasks on time.
- Utilise the CMMS system (Pemac) to create PMs, job plans and SOPs, and periodically review maintenance programmes.
- Support safety procedures, lead decision‑making on plant operation and mentor the team.
- Assist site engineers with capital improvement projects and complex utility service isolations.
- Identify and implement continuous‑improvement measures to enhance plant efficiency.
Required profile
- Craft‑qualified electrician with proven experience in a similar industrial role.
- Background in energy conversion and distribution is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical mindset; experience with Six Sigma or Lean methodologies preferred.
- Ability to lead, mentor and resolve complex plant deviations.
Required skills
- HV and LV electrical distribution.
- Electrical generation turbines, diesel generators and boilers.
- Fuel‑oil storage/distribution and industrial gas installations.
- CMMS (Pemac) usage for maintenance planning.
- Six Sigma and Lean methodology application.
