Electrical Technician – Energy Center

About the role
The Electrical Day Technician will join the Energy Center team in Clondalkin, providing day‑time maintenance and support for a wide range of utility plant equipment. You will work closely with shift technicians, service providers and engineering staff to ensure reliable operation of high‑voltage (HV) and low‑voltage (LV) distribution networks and associated plant.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate daily activities with shift technicians, especially during morning change‑over.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external service providers.
- Troubleshoot and conduct high‑level investigations of equipment faults, performing root‑cause analysis.
- Record and investigate deviations to maintain compliance and quality standards.
- Execute planned preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance tasks.
- Ensure preventive maintenance (PM) jobs are completed on schedule.
- Develop and maintain PM plans, job plans and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for plant equipment.
- Liaise with the site planner to identify spare‑part requirements.
- Review and optimise the maintenance programme to achieve maximum uptime.
- Support safety procedures and assist in emergency situations outside normal hours.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to the team on complex plant issues.
- Assist engineers with root‑cause analysis, capital projects, commissioning and hand‑over activities.
- Plan and execute complex utility service isolations for maintenance and projects.
- Identify and implement continuous‑improvement measures.
Required profile
- Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities.
- Experience with HV/LV distribution, turbines, diesel generators, boilers, fuel‑oil storage and industrial gas installations.
- Ability to make informed decisions on plant operation, including taking equipment offline and coordinating recovery actions.
- Leadership capability to guide and develop junior technicians.
- Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
