Electrician – Fixed Plant Maintenance (Permanent)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Electrician to join the Fixed Plant Maintenance team at our Simberi mining operation in Papua New Guinea. The role is permanent, full‑time and involves maintaining the reliability of all electrical systems across the mine site.

Key responsibilities

• Install, inspect and maintain electrical and instrumentation equipment throughout the plant.
• Perform routine and corrective maintenance on generators, power distribution networks, switch rooms and motor control centres.
• Respond to breakdowns and emergency calls, ensuring rapid restoration of service.
• Support training of junior electrical trades and promote safe work practices.
• Ensure all work complies with PNG electrical codes, Mine Safety Act, AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3008 and company HSE policies.

Required profile

• Qualified electrician with proven experience in industrial or mining environments.
• Ability to work on a 15/13 roster and travel to various PNG locations.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.

Required skills

• Electrical maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Installation and servicing of generators and motor control centres.
• Knowledge of PNG electrical codes and AS/NZS 3000/3008 standards.
