Equipment Engineer – 24/7 Shift Role

About the role

We are looking for an Equipment Engineer to join a leading materials‑engineering solutions provider. The role is based in Kildare and operates on a 24/7 shift rota, supporting the installation, qualification and maintenance of critical equipment used in semiconductor and advanced display manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on‑site installation, qualification, preventative and corrective maintenance of electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues using digital analytics and hands‑on troubleshooting.
• Interface with Irish‑based customers to ensure successful equipment commissioning.
• Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to health‑and‑safety standards.
• Travel to global training sites for several weeks before returning to Ireland.

Required profile

• Technical qualification (ideally Level 6) or equivalent industry experience.
• Practical hands‑on exposure to mechanical, electrical or electronic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Experience diagnosing basic technical challenges.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum or thermodynamics.
• Familiarity with hand tools and digital multimeters.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Full driving licence and willingness to work a 24/7 shift rota.
