Field Service Engineer

About the role

Aggreko is looking for a proactive Field Service Engineer to join our team in Port Laois. You will be responsible for keeping our power generation equipment running reliably for a wide range of customers, from short‑term events to long‑term industrial sites.

Key responsibilities

• Complete repairs and overhauls on generators and other large engines within agreed timeframes and budgets.
• Maintain equipment to the highest safety and quality standards.
• Manage stock levels of spare parts and ensure required tools are available.
• Document component failures and produce test reports in line with ISO standards.
• Support, train and mentor the service crew.
• Test and evaluate refurbished or repaired generators before release.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 6 (or equivalent) in an engineering or mechanical discipline, including apprenticeships.
• Proven experience servicing and repairing large engines such as generators, HGVs, plant or agricultural machinery.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities.
• Good PC literacy with basic MS Office skills.
• Ability to keep a service vehicle to GSCS standards.
