Field Service Engineer

About the role

Join Aggreko as a Field Service Engineer based at the Portlaoise depot. You will be the mechanical or electrical specialist who maintains and repairs power and energy solutions at customer sites, travelling as required.

Key responsibilities

• Complete repairs and overhauls on time, to standard and within budget.
• Adhere to safety practices and quality standards.
• Perform total maintenance of generators and related equipment.
• Maintain stock levels of materials and ensure tools are ready for use.
• Report and document component failures.
• Support team performance by delivering quality work and training service crew.
• Test and evaluate refurbished or repaired generators and produce ISO‑compliant test reports.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 6 (or equivalent) in engineering/mechanical subjects, including apprenticeships.
• Experience servicing and repairing large engines such as generators, HGVs, plant equipment and agricultural machinery.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities.
• Basic PC literacy with proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Ability to keep a vehicle to GSCS standards.
