Financial Accountant

About the role

A well‑established automotive retail group is looking for a motivated Financial Accountant to join a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. Reporting directly to the CEO and CFO, you will support financial reporting, cash‑flow management, budgeting, payroll and overall finance operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Analyse profitability across vehicle sales, service, parts and after‑sales.
• Assist with budgets, forecasts and cash‑flow projections; monitor financial KPIs.
• Manage daily cash flow, banking activities and funding lines; support debtor control and supplier payments.
• Oversee payroll processing, commission calculations and ensure PAYE, PRSI, pension and statutory compliance.
• Perform vehicle stock reconciliations, cost tracking and VAT margin scheme calculations for used vehicles.
• Prepare VAT returns, revenue submissions and support annual audit preparation.
• Work with Dealer Management Systems (DMS) and accounting software to streamline reporting and maintain data accuracy.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent.
• 3+ years post‑qualification experience in accounting, tax compliance and management reporting.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to work collaboratively with senior management.
• Experience in the motor industry is advantageous but not essential.
