Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious Financial Controller to join a fast‑growing sustainability consultancy operating across Ireland and the UK. Based near Dublin City Centre, you will lead financial control, reporting accuracy and commercial insight while driving continuous improvement of finance systems and processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end month‑end close, prepare management accounts and board‑level reporting packs.
• Maintain balance‑sheet controls, multi‑entity consolidations and intercompany reconciliations, including EUR/GBP translation.
• Own preparation, filing and payment of Irish and UK tax obligations.
• Manage the 13‑week rolling cash forecast, weekly cash reporting and working‑capital optimisation.
• Lead annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting and develop financial models for strategic planning and project profitability.
• Track KPIs across projects, departments and service lines, delivering profitability analysis for Irish and UK entities.
• Develop and mentor the finance team, overseeing tax filings and supporting professional exam progression.
• Act as finance system owner for NetSuite, driving automation and process improvement.
• Manage the annual audit process and statutory accounts for all group entities.

Required profile

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager.
• Strong background in month‑end reporting, FP&A and cash‑flow forecasting.
• Experience with multi‑entity, cross‑border group structures (Ireland/UK/EU) is advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop finance teams.
• Commercially astute with strong analytical capability.
• Experience in professional services, engineering, consultancy or project‑based environments is a plus.

• NetSuite (finance system ownership and reporting automation).
