Financial Controller

About the role

We are a fast‑growing, PE‑backed international business seeking a hands‑on Financial Controller to lead and evolve our finance function. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will play a pivotal leadership role in a dynamic, commercial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the month‑end close, delivering accurate monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts with full variance analysis.
• Drive continuous improvement of finance systems, processes and controls, focusing on automation and efficiency.
• Manage day‑to‑day cash forecasting, payments, bank reconciliations and working‑capital optimisation.
• Partner with the CFO on board reporting, budgeting, forecasting and finance transformation initiatives.
• Develop and mentor the finance team, fostering high performance and accountability.
• Ensure compliance with tax (VAT, PAYE/PRSI, Corporation Tax), statutory reporting and the annual audit.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant, ideally practice‑trained, with 5+ years post‑qualification experience in a fast‑paced commercial setting.
• Proven ability to lead, develop and motivate a finance team.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a practical approach to process improvement.
• Excellent communication skills, comfortable working across the business and with external advisers.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
