Financial Controller – Start‑Up (South Kilkenny)

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Controller to join a fast‑growing Irish start‑up based in South Kilkenny. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategy and supporting senior leadership with insightful analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, balance‑sheet reconciliations and year‑end financial statements.
• Develop presentations and financial analysis for senior management to aid decision‑making.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and long‑term strategic plans.
• Provide financial support and commercial insights to operational teams across the business.
• Monitor overheads, identify cost‑saving opportunities and drive efficiency initiatives.
• Support continuous improvement within the finance function and contribute to ad‑hoc commercial projects.
• Liaise with senior stakeholders and external advisors as required.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with 7+ years of post‑qualification experience.
• Experience gained in a Big 4 or Top 10 accounting practice.
• Background in a commercial, fast‑moving business environment.
• Comfortable interacting with senior stakeholders.
• Ambitious professional seeking long‑term progression in a growing Irish company.
• Based in South Kilkenny or willing to relocate.
