Fleet Manager – Nationwide Fleet Operations

About the role
Wills Bros Group is looking for an experienced Fleet Manager to lead its nationwide fleet function, supporting major civil engineering and infrastructure projects across Ireland. The role is based in our Sallins office and oversees a fleet of approximately 400 vehicles, driving operational excellence, compliance and safety.
Key responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day operation of a nationwide fleet of ~400 vehicles.
- Lead and develop the fleet department and broader operational function.
- Implement and continuously improve Fleet Management Systems.
- Ensure driver compliance, safety performance and regulatory adherence (RSA, TII, CVRT, insurance).
- Monitor utilisation, downtime, maintenance, servicing and total fleet cost.
- Manage relationships with suppliers, leasing providers, maintenance contractors and telematics partners.
- Promote a strong culture of road safety, accountability and operational excellence.
- Support operational teams on multiple live projects nationwide.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing a large‑scale fleet (300+ vehicles preferred).
- Proven background in logistics, transport, construction, civil engineering or similar fast‑paced environments.
- Demonstrated leadership and people‑management capability.
- Experience overseeing driver compliance, vehicle maintenance, fleet operations, reporting and KPI/cost control.
- Strong knowledge of RSA requirements, TII compliance, commercial vehicle regulations and driver safety standards.
- Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Logistics, Transport Management or equivalent.
- Transport Manager CPC qualification and/or recognised fleet‑management certifications.
