Full Stack Engineer – Innovation Team (Remote, Ireland)

About the role

Join the Innovation Team at Matomo to build privacy‑first analytics features. You will work remotely from anywhere in Ireland, collaborating directly with the CTO and senior engineers to turn high‑impact concepts into production‑ready solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, prototype and deliver new backend (PHP) and frontend (JavaScript) features that extend Matomo’s core platform.
• Explore additional technologies such as Python and Node.js when required.
• Rapidly validate AI‑powered insights and other product ideas.
• Own ideas from concept through deployment, balancing speed with quality.
• Identify and remove blockers, escalating when necessary.
• Write automated tests, review code and produce clear technical documentation.
• Maintain security best practices and stay current with emerging frameworks.
• Collaborate with co‑founders and senior engineers using Slack, Jira and Confluence.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of professional backend development experience in PHP.
• Solid experience with JavaScript for frontend development.
• Familiarity with Python and Node.js is a plus.
• Ability to work autonomously in a small, remote team.
