Full Stack Engineer – Innovation Team (Remote, Ireland)

About the role

We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer to join our Innovation Team and build privacy‑first analytics features for Matomo’s core platform. You will work remotely from anywhere in Ireland, collaborating closely with the CTO and senior engineers to turn high‑impact concepts into production‑ready solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, prototype and deliver new backend features using PHP and frontend components with JavaScript.
• Extend the platform with additional technologies such as Python and Node.js when required.
• Rapidly explore and validate AI‑powered analytics ideas and other innovation opportunities.
• Own end‑to‑end development from concept through deployment and integration into Matomo’s core.
• Write automated tests, review code and produce clear technical documentation.
• Maintain security best practices and stay up‑to‑date with emerging technologies.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of professional backend development experience with PHP.
• Proven ability to work autonomously in a small, remote team.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and willingness to take ownership of features.
