Full-time Kitchen Porter

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy Gourmet Food Parlour in Salthill, Galway. This full‑time position involves supporting the kitchen team by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and organisation throughout the service.

Key responsibilities

• Wash and sanitise dishes, utensils and all kitchen equipment.
• Keep kitchen surfaces, floors and work areas clean and tidy.
• Manage waste and recycling in line with company policies.
• Assist with receiving deliveries, checking and storing items correctly.
• Organise and label food storage areas, rotate stock and apply FIFO principles.
• Date‑label produce and maintain accurate stock records.
• Support chefs with basic food preparation when required.
• Ensure equipment is cleaned and maintained properly.
• Follow all health, safety and food‑hygiene procedures.
• Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth service.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a professional kitchen environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced setting.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work weekends and busy periods.
• Valid EU passport or work permit/visa and ability to speak English.

Required skills

• HACCP knowledge (advantageous).
