General Counsel (Remote, US Bar, EMEA overlap)

About the role

We are looking for a proactive US‑bar‑qualified General Counsel to lead our in‑house legal function across three distinct workstreams: a top‑5 direct‑to‑consumer e‑commerce brand, a family office investing in hedge funds, and cross‑border legal structuring for multiple jurisdictions. The role reports directly to the CEO and is fully remote with required overlap with EMEA time zones.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee legal compliance for the DTC e‑commerce brand, including FTC guidelines and consumer protection.
• Manage hedge‑fund subscription, custody protocols, and negotiate LP terms.
• Design and implement cross‑border legal structures across international jurisdictions.
• Manage relationships with external counsel and own all major legal exposures.
• Deliver monthly legal exposure audits and quarterly compliance sweeps to the CEO.
• Identify and mitigate material legal risks across all workstreams.

Required profile

• Active US Bar membership.
• Significant experience in DTC regulatory compliance, hedge‑fund documentation, and international structuring.
• Ability to work autonomously, prioritize multiple domains, and communicate directly with C‑level leadership.
• Willingness to operate in a fast‑paced environment with high performance expectations.
