Head of Cyber Security

About the role

Scurri is seeking a Head of Cyber Security to shape and execute its defensive strategy in a fast‑moving AI‑driven environment. Reporting to the CTO, you will lead the security lifecycle, bridge engineering and compliance, and mentor a junior security engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement a long‑term security roadmap that balances rapid shipping with strong protection.
• Directly manage and develop a cybersecurity team, setting priorities and fostering growth.
• Establish AI governance, including policies for commercial AI tools and safeguards for AI‑assisted coding.
• Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines, automating secret scanning, dependency analysis and policy‑as‑code.
• Lead ISO 27001 and SOC 2 programs, moving toward automated “Compliance‑as‑a‑Service”.
• Oversee threat intelligence, detection engineering, third‑party audits and penetration tests.
• Serve as the primary security liaison for the board, sales RFPs and external regulators such as Enterprise Ireland.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of cybersecurity experience, including 1‑2 years in a leadership or mentoring role.
• Proven ability to audit AI‑generated code and design automated response systems.
• Strong communication skills to translate technical resilience into business advantage.
