Hotel Maintenance Manager

About the role

We are recruiting on behalf of a well‑established hotel in Belfast City Centre for a hands‑on Maintenance Manager. Reporting to the Hotel Manager, you will lead a small maintenance team, oversee all repair activities and ensure the property operates safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all maintenance and repair operations across the hotel, ensuring safety, quality and operational standards.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programmes for HVAC, electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems.
• Lead, motivate and supervise a small maintenance team, allocating workloads and monitoring performance.
• Carry out regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house facilities and ensure prompt repairs.
• Manage maintenance budgets, monitor expenditure and liaise with suppliers and contractors.
• Maintain accurate records, work orders and equipment inventories using maintenance management systems.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a hotel maintenance environment.
• At least 1 year in a supervisory or management capacity.
• Strong organisational, time‑management and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced hospitality setting.

• Technical knowledge of HVAC systems.
• Electrical systems expertise.
• Plumbing systems expertise.
• Mechanical systems expertise.
• Proficiency with Opera or other maintenance management software.
