HVAC Team Leader

About the role

The Data Centre HVAC Team Leader is responsible for ensuring the reliability and availability of all cooling infrastructure in a data‑centre environment. Reporting to the Engineering Operation Manager, the role combines hands‑on maintenance, asset performance monitoring and leadership of the HVAC engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and execute preventive, corrective and reactive maintenance for all site cooling systems.
• Monitor asset condition, alarms and trends to maintain high availability and resilience.
• Mentor engineers and apprentices, developing their HVAC competency.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory, vendor relationships and change‑management processes.
• Lead incident response, produce reports and ensure corrective actions are closed.
• Control Permit‑to‑Work and Risk Assessment documentation for all critical works.
• Maintain accurate records in CMMS/CAFM and the Incident Management System.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HVAC operations within a data‑centre or similar high‑availability environment.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Ability to act as Subject Matter Expert for cooling infrastructure.
• Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
