ICT Support Technician

About the role

The ICT Support Technician is the first point of contact for all technology issues within a healthcare environment. You will provide timely, professional and empathetic assistance to clinical and non‑clinical staff, ensuring that IT services reliably support patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and log 1st‑level incidents and service requests via ticketing system, email, phone, desk‑side and remote channels.
• Resolve level‑1 issues on the spot and escalate complex problems to Level‑2/3 or third‑party vendors.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, operating‑system and connectivity problems on desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers and MFPs.
• Perform break/fix activities, device imaging, software deployments, data migration and basic network troubleshooting.
• Install, configure and maintain operating systems, standard applications, peripherals and endpoint‑security tools.
• Assist with account access, password resets, permissions and onboarding/off‑boarding in line with identity‑management procedures.
• Participate in the on‑call rota and provide remote or on‑site support as required.
• Identify recurring issues, contribute to Service Desk processes and create knowledge‑base articles, user guides and FAQs.
• Support audio‑visual technologies used in the education centre.

Required profile

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in IT support or a similar role.
• Strong customer‑service orientation with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically.
• Willingness to work in a value‑driven healthcare setting and participate in an on‑call rota.
• Ambitious professional seeking a clear pathway to Level‑2 support and specialist technical roles.
