Indirect Tax Consultant

About the role

AVASK TAX GLOBAL is seeking a full‑time Indirect Tax Consultant to join its Dublin office. The role operates on a hybrid model, combining office presence with the flexibility to work from home several days a week.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day indirect tax compliance for a portfolio of multinational clients, including preparation and review of VAT returns, EC sales lists and related reports.
• Analyse client transactions, identify indirect tax implications and provide practical advice aligned with local and EU regulations.
• Liaise with tax authorities on registrations, audits and queries, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
• Support tax planning projects, maintain accurate documentation and contribute to continuous process improvements.
• Collaborate with colleagues across European offices to deliver high‑quality service.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of indirect tax (VAT) principles and compliance processes, particularly in Ireland and other EU jurisdictions.
• Experience preparing and reviewing VAT returns and supporting documentation for multiple entities or clients.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and accounting/ERP systems, capable of handling large data sets accurately.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax topics to non‑specialists.
• Organised, deadline‑driven and able to manage multiple assignments in a hybrid work environment.
• Relevant professional qualification or progression in tax, accounting or finance is preferred; a degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, Law or related field is beneficial.
• Prior experience in consulting, accounting or professional services is a strong advantage.
• Fluency in English required; additional European languages are a plus.
