Industrial Refrigeration Engineer (Chiller Service)

About the role

JCI is looking for a qualified refrigeration service engineer to join its growing team of specialised YORK chiller technicians. The role covers commissioning, servicing, troubleshooting and maintenance of industrial water- and air-cooled chillers and heat pumps, mainly for the company's largest customers in the pharmaceutical, life sciences and high-tech sectors. The engineer is the primary contact for technical service issues and must resolve complex systems within a set timeframe.

Key responsibilities

• Provide up-to-date site surveys, records and reports on completed works to support quoting of new or replacement equipment.
• Carry out commissioning, servicing, troubleshooting and maintenance of industrial water- and air-cooled chillers and heat pumps.
• Act as the main point of contact for technical service issues, following the service agreement and customer needs.
• Work safely, often without accompaniment, as part of a team.

Required profile

• Refrigeration F-GAS 2079 certificate.
• Relevant trade qualification in refrigeration, or a qualified industrial electrician willing to cross-train on YORK chillers and heat pumps.
• Safe Pass card and manual handling certificate.
• Qualified to at least NFQ level 5.
• Full clean Irish driving licence.
• Experience with major chiller manufacturers such as York, Sabroe, Trane, Carrier and Daikin.
• Able to work without detailed procedures and with limited supervision.

Required skills

• Service, maintenance and repair of water-cooled and air-cooled chillers.
• Commissioning experience on large-ton centrifugal and screw chillers and heat pumps is an advantage; factory training is provided.
• Ammonia experience is a distinct advantage.
