Inertial Sensor Engineer – Space & Non‑Space Applications

About the role

The Inertial Sensor Engineer will lead all technical aspects of inertial sensor development for both space and non‑space applications. You will define design requirements, create product roadmaps, analyse competitors, manage IP and drive a data‑centric engineering culture across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the INL Inertial Sensor product roadmap.
• Provide business development, market and product expertise.
• Manage and protect intellectual property related to sensor technologies.
• Support and review technical matters throughout all phases of space projects, from development to production.
• Maintain and improve engineering processes, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Participate in design, engineering, customer and supplier reviews.
• Support internal and external audits for space projects.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years experience as an AOCS or Inertial Sensor Engineer in a highly regulated aerospace, defence or space environment.
• At least 5 years developing/producing space‑qualified products following ECSS standards and participating in PDR/CDR/QR reviews.
• Expert knowledge of inertial sensor technologies, usage and testing.
• Strong understanding of the competitive market and experience in business development or sales.
• Relevant engineering degree (electronic, manufacturing or processes).
• Willingness to travel internationally for supplier and customer meetings.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio and MS Project.
• Knowledge of ECSS, EN9100 and ISO 9001 standards.
• IP and patent management experience.
• Configuration control management.
