Innovation Packaging Technologist

About the role

The Innovation Packaging Technologist supports the development, testing, and commercialization of new packaging solutions that meet customer requirements and market trends. Working closely with cross‑functional teams, the role drives packaging concepts from idea through to production while ensuring quality, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in strategic and customer‑specific projects by defining material, structure, and converting process requirements.
• Collaborate with R&D, operations, quality, supply chain, and commercial teams to ensure timely execution and successful launch.
• Plan, execute, and analyze product trials at manufacturing plants and customer sites.
• Provide technical support for material selection, converting processes, and product construction; update bills of materials and cost estimates.
• Maintain ISO standards, GMPs, and food‑safety procedures throughout product development.
• Prepare detailed trial reports, presentations, and project updates for internal teams and customers.
• Estimate cost and timeline for development projects by analysing materials, processes, and labour inputs.
• Define testing protocols, interpret statistical data, and validate performance against specifications.
• Track post‑launch performance and recommend enhancements based on data and feedback.
• Conduct packaging performance evaluations such as transit, shelf‑life, seal integrity, and usability testing.
