Insight Analyst

About the role

Primark’s Applied Insights & Analytics team is looking for an Insight Analyst to turn data and reporting into actionable recommendations that support commercial decisions across the business. You will work closely with trading, buying, merchandising, supply chain, finance and customer teams to uncover opportunities and drive measurable value.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver insight and analytics requests from initial business question through to clear recommendations.
• Partner with business partners to understand requirements, frame questions and select appropriate data sources.
• Analyse data using SQL and insight applications to identify trends and provide actionable insights for trading, customer and operational functions.
• Translate analytical outputs into compelling narratives and recommendations for non‑technical audiences.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards and reporting packs using Power BI, Tableau or similar tools.
• Support stakeholder updates, commercial reviews and decision‑support materials.
• Collaborate with analysts, data engineers and data scientists to improve reporting, data quality and analytics solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in an analyst, insight, reporting or commercial analytics role, preferably in retail, FMCG, grocery or apparel.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to link analysis to sales, margin and key performance indicators.
• Excellent communication skills with a talent for storytelling and presenting complex data simply.

Required skills

• SQL – ability to query, join and interpret large datasets.
• Power BI, Tableau or comparable data visualisation platforms.
