Internal Auditor – Finance & Governance

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Internal Auditor to join a well‑established, diversified Irish organisation operating across manufacturing, retail, distribution and consumer products. Reporting into a collaborative finance and governance team, you will own the internal audit function and support strategic projects across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and present the Annual Internal Audit Plan based on risk assessment, including timelines and priorities.
• Plan and deliver audit assignments covering financial, operational and systems controls.
• Assess compliance with internal policies, procedures and best‑practice standards.
• Prepare clear audit reports with practical recommendations and monitor remediation actions.
• Support management in strengthening internal controls and governance processes.
• Lead annual group risk assessment activities.
• Participate in ongoing operational and systems‑related projects.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant and member of a recognised professional accountancy body.
• Previous experience in a large accounting firm or internal audit function of a sizeable organisation.
• Confident communicator able to engage senior stakeholders.
• Comfortable challenging existing processes and recommending improvements.
• Strong presentation and reporting abilities.
• Full clean driving licence and own transport.
