Internal Auditor

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Internal Auditor to join a growing organisation in Sligo. The role leads the internal audit function, delivering risk‑based audits and supporting effective governance and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the annual internal audit plan based on risk assessment for the Audit Committee.
• Plan and deliver audit assignments to verify compliance with corporate policies.
• Conduct financial, operational and technology internal audits and special reviews.
• Prepare audit reports with recommendations to strengthen internal controls.
• Monitor and follow up on remediation of identified control issues.
• Support management in developing controls and best practice.
• Manage the annual risk assessment project.
• Lead or support operational and systems projects, including company secretarial returns where required.

Required profile

• Fully qualified member of a recognised accountancy body.
• Experience in the audit department of a large accounting firm or the internal audit function of a large organisation.
• Irish auditing experience is essential.
• Ability to analyse business operations and recommend practical audit solutions.
• Right to work in Ireland without sponsorship.
• Full current driving licence with access to own vehicle.

What we offer

• Permanent contract.
• Hybrid working available after successful completion of probation.

• Competitive salary of €55,000 per annum.
