ISEM Trading Analyst

About the role

This role is based in our Dublin office with occasional travel to Kilroot, Ballylumford and Tynagh power stations. The Trading Analyst will support the All‑Island Trading Team, delivering optimisation, risk management and market access for TTEP assets across the I‑SEM. You will provide analytical support for a growing generation portfolio and develop in‑house bidding and analytical tools to maximise gross margin across all trading horizons.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain bidding and analytical tools for forward hedging, day‑ahead, intraday and real‑time dispatch.
• Analyse market models to support ex‑ante bids for multiple thermal units in I‑SEM.
• Assess balancing market opportunities and optimise asset positions.
• Conduct gas capacity and market analysis to optimise costs and secondary trade opportunities.
• Perform carbon market analysis to support forward purchasing and hedging strategies.
• Prepare and summarise market reports for management and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Advanced proficiency with MS Excel and Power BI.
• Strong programming skills in Python, MATLAB, C/C++, R and SQL.
• Degree in a relevant Science, Engineering, Economics or Finance discipline – essential.
