IT Support Analyst – Protection

About the role

We are seeking an IT Support Analyst to join the Protection team within Application Services at Royal London Ireland. Reporting to the Protection Support Lead, you will act as a technical subject‑matter expert, ensuring the stability, performance and continuous improvement of business‑critical applications while collaborating with Operations and the wider Change & Technology function.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advanced support for business‑critical applications and investigate, diagnose and resolve incidents.
• Monitor application performance, support service stability and maintain documentation, known‑issue logs and knowledge bases.
• Build relationships with Operations teams to understand business processes, system usage and data flows.
• Develop expertise in application architecture, cloud environments (Azure) and integrations.
• Work with infrastructure and platform teams to diagnose and resolve cross‑layer issues, including SQL‑related investigations.
• Contribute to environment‑level changes, technical improvements and production releases.
• Identify root causes of recurring problems and implement long‑term solutions.
• Support project delivery, operational readiness and drive improvements to support processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in application support, systems support or technical operations.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Proactive attitude and ownership of issues through to resolution.

Required skills

• SQL and data investigation.
• Azure cloud technologies.
• Application support and troubleshooting across application, database and infrastructure layers.
• Knowledge of cloud environments and integrations.
