IT Support Engineer – Level 1 (Cork)

About the role

We are seeking a Level 1 IT Support Engineer to join a well‑established organisation in Cork. This permanent, fully onsite position involves delivering first‑line technical assistance, managing end‑user devices and supporting broader IT initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide responsive support for laptops, desktops, printers, mobile devices and business applications.
• Assist users with Microsoft 365 suite, including Outlook, Teams and SharePoint.
• Prepare, configure and deploy end‑user devices, manage hardware replacements, upgrades and repairs.
• Set up equipment and system access for new starters and recover assets on employee departures.
• Support network‑related issues such as wireless connectivity, VPN and remote access.
• Participate in system upgrades, technology roll‑outs and IT improvement projects.
• Maintain accurate records of hardware, software and IT assets.
• Help uphold security standards by applying updates, endpoint management and reporting vulnerabilities.
• Create and update technical documentation and user guides, and contribute to knowledge‑sharing.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in IT Support, Service Desk or Desktop Support.
• Strong fault‑finding skills across hardware, software and operating systems.
• Customer‑focused attitude with the ability to communicate clearly at all employee levels.
• Understanding of core networking concepts such as TCP/IP, Wi‑Fi and VPN.
