Junior Security Engineer

About the role

Larian Studios is seeking a motivated Junior Security Engineer to help strengthen the security posture of its global studio environment. This entry‑level position offers exposure to infrastructure security, vulnerability management, monitoring, and operational security within the gaming industry.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, assess, and mitigate vulnerabilities across infrastructure and applications.
• Support deployment and operation of security tools across multiple systems and environments.
• Perform security monitoring, vulnerability scanning, and assist with log analysis to detect incidents and threats.
• Assist with technical security audits and provide actionable recommendations.
• Maintain secure baseline configurations for Windows and Linux systems.
• Participate in incident handling, escalation procedures, and change‑management workflows.
• Educate staff on information‑security best practices and keep security documentation up to date.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in IT, infrastructure, or cybersecurity‑related roles.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, Windows and Linux operating systems, and networking fundamentals.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and written/verbal communication skills in English.
• Passion for cybersecurity, willingness to learn, and ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Required skills

• Vulnerability scanning or security monitoring tools.
• Basic scripting/automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Exposure to SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, or vulnerability management tools (nice to have).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) (nice to have).
