Kitchen Porter – Full‑time in Salthill, Galway

About the role

Gourmet Food Parlour is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join its busy kitchen in Salthill, Galway. This full‑time position offers 30+ hours per week across a flexible five‑day schedule, including weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Wash and sanitise dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and work areas.
• Manage waste and recycling in line with company policies.
• Assist with receiving and organising deliveries, checking and storing items correctly.
• Tidy and organise food storage areas, ensuring clear labelling and proper rotation.
• Date‑label produce and manage stock using the FIFO system.
• Support chefs with basic food preparation tasks when required.
• Ensure equipment is properly cleaned and maintained.
• Follow all health, safety and food hygiene procedures.
• Work as part of a team to ensure smooth and efficient service.

Required profile

• Previous experience working in a professional kitchen.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work weekends and busy periods.
• Valid EU passport or work permit/visa.
• Fluent English.
• HACCP knowledge is an advantage.
