Laboratory Analyst – 6 month contract

About the role

We are looking for a Laboratory Analyst to join SGS’s Natural Resources laboratory in Dublin on a six‑month fixed‑term contract. The role involves performing analytical testing on customer samples in compliance with ISO 17025 and SGS quality standards, while ensuring health, safety and environmental requirements are met.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out analytical testing using approved laboratory methods and procedures.
• Prepare, handle and analyse customer samples accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain compliance with ISO 17025 and SGS Quality Management Systems.
• Record, review and report analytical data.
• Participate in laboratory quality control, verification and validation activities.
• Assist with internal and external laboratory audits.
• Ensure laboratory equipment is maintained, calibrated and fit for purpose.
• Follow Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and report incidents or non‑conformances.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
• Experience working in an analytical laboratory environment.
• Knowledge of ISO 17025 or equivalent quality systems (desirable).
• Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
• Valid work permit or visa authorising employment in Ireland.
