Laundry & Accommodation Assistant (Linen Porter)

About the role

The Talbot Hotel Cork is looking for a motivated Laundry & Accommodation Assistant to join its busy hotel team. Working full‑time, you will ensure that clean linens are available for the hotel and, when required, for partner hotels, while also supporting housekeeping duties across guest rooms and public areas.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, sort, wash, dry, press and fold linens and textile items to hotel standards.
• Supply clean linens to guest rooms, public areas and, occasionally, to other hotels.
• Perform housekeeping tasks in guest bedrooms, corridors, leisure club, staff quarters and other public spaces when needed.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in bathrooms, stores and corridors.
• Communicate with guests to address requests and ensure satisfaction.
• Follow standard operating procedures and health & safety guidelines.

Required profile

• Previous experience in hotel laundry or housekeeping (preferred but not essential).
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
• Flexibility to work weekends, shifts and up to 32‑39 hours per week.
• Valid driver’s licence is desirable.

Required skills

• Ability to operate commercial laundry equipment safely.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and proper handling procedures.
