Lead Maintenance Tech

About the role

The Lead Maintenance Tech is responsible for ensuring that all building systems, grounds, amenities and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety and functionality. This role combines hands‑on technical work with coordination of vendors and oversight of turnover processes.

Key responsibilities

• Assign and complete work orders from resident requests, diagnosing defects and performing repairs in line with safety policies.
• Manage the turnover process, creating priority lists, scheduling contractors, ordering supplies and inspecting completed work.
• Develop and uphold standards for community cleanliness and appearance that reflect Greystar’s brand.
• Inspect work performed by other maintenance team members and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and maintenance materials, collaborating with the Community Manager to stay within budget.
• Execute regular preventative maintenance plans (PPM) to extend equipment life cycles.
• Coordinate minor works contracts, monitor contractor performance, and retain accurate records of permits and RAMS.
• Accompany external contractors on site, ensuring compliance with access and safety policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in property or facilities maintenance, with the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues.
• Strong organizational skills for managing work orders, inventory and vendor relationships.
• Knowledge of safety standards and ability to enforce compliance.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with residents, contractors and internal teams.
