Lead Software Engineer – AI & Decision Product Enablement

About the role

Join the AI & Decision Product Enablement team at Mastercard, building services to combat fraud and validate cardholder identity in real‑time. The patented platform processes billions of transactions each month with high performance and availability.

Key responsibilities

• Execute Proof‑of‑Concepts (POCs) for new business opportunities.
• Complete detailed design, development, and support implementations.
• Perform functional and technical testing of fraud management solutions.
• Integrate solutions with Mastercard core processing technologies, including the authorization network and messaging architectures.
• Collaborate with Risk Systems architects, developers, analysts, project managers, and business partners.
• Deliver cost‑effective, maintainable technology solutions that meet business requirements.

Required profile

• Ability to innovate and develop new approaches to complex problems.
• Prior software development experience, especially with Java and Test‑Driven Development (TDD).
• Experience designing and estimating detailed work deliverables for high‑volume transaction systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and self‑motivation.
• Capability to multitask, meet deadlines, and build consensus around technical ideas.

Required skills

• Core Java (including multi‑threading) and J2EE web applications.
• Web services with JBoss, WebSphere, REST, XML, WSDL, SOAP.
• Hibernate and Spring frameworks.
• Oracle & PL/SQL databases.
• Solaris/UNIX and Red Hat Linux environments.
• Messaging technologies – MQ and JMS.
• WebSphere Operational Decision Manager (formerly ILOG JRules).
• Eclipse‑based IDEs such as JBoss Developer Studio.
