Lecturer in Finance

About the role

Galway Business School is seeking a Lecturer in Finance to deliver high‑quality lectures and seminars to undergraduate and postgraduate students. The role involves preparing teaching materials, designing assessments, grading work and providing constructive feedback.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging finance lectures and seminars, both on‑site and via the Virtual Learning Environment.
• Prepare, update and maintain course materials, assessments and exam papers.
• Grade assignments and exams, offering timely feedback to support student learning.
• Contribute to curriculum development and programme enhancement.
• Participate in academic meetings, quality‑assurance processes and research supervision.
• Provide student support through office hours, tutorials and academic advising.

Required profile

• Minimum Master’s degree in Finance, Business or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated balance of lecturing experience and industry experience in finance.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team to improve teaching, learning and assessment strategies.
• Willingness to engage with the Virtual Learning Environment and uphold academic integrity.
