Lecturer or Senior Lecturer – Learning Systems (AI/ML)

About the role

The School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications at UNSW is seeking a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to lead teaching and research in learning systems, focusing on artificial intelligence and machine learning. You will shape undergraduate and postgraduate curricula, supervise student projects, and drive high‑impact research in emerging electronic learning technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality lectures, tutorials and labs for Electrical Engineering programmes.
• Develop and update course materials in AI, machine learning and learning systems.
• Conduct independent research, publish in leading journals and conferences.
• Secure research funding and build collaborations with industry partners.
• Contribute to the School’s strategic initiatives and interdisciplinary projects.

Required profile

• Established academic with expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning or learning systems.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate research and teaching at university level.
• Collaborative, adaptable and capable of building industry and research networks.
• For Senior Lecturer level, evidence of research leadership and mentorship.
